Reverse description Central field occupied by the large, elaborately quartered royal arms of Denmark, displaying the multiple heraldic elements of the Danish crown: lions passant, three crowns, the Dannebrog cross, the Oldenburg arms, and additional subsidiary charges, all within an ornate cartouche supported by foliate mantling. The shield is surmounted by a jewelled royal crown of elaborate Renaissance form. Two large decorative supporters, rendered in high relief, flank the armorial shield on either side. The circumferential Latin legend, reading DVX SLES HOL ST DIT COM IN OLD ET DELM, enumerates Christian IV's ducal and comital titles and is separated from the central design by a beaded inner border.
