| Obverse description | Enthroned frontal effigy of Emperor Charles IV in full imperial regalia, wearing a jewelled crown and pontifical vestments, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left. The emperor is flanked on either side by large heraldic eagles with spread wings, each standing beside an armorial shield — the Imperial eagle shield to the left and the Bohemian lion shield to the right. The dates 1378 and 1978, separated by a mintmaster's mark, appear in a decorative cartouche below the throne, commemorating the 600th anniversary of the emperor's death. The peripheral legend in Gothic-style Latin lettering runs around the entire obverse field. |

| Reverse description | Central design featuring a bold six-armed cross with elongated arms, each terminating in a stylised fleur-de-lis or lily blossom, with additional lily sprays filling the angles between the arms in an elaborate floral arrangement. At the centre of the cross, within a raised hexagonal cartouche, the denomination X DUCAT is inscribed in two lines. The fineness mark 980 appears below the central cross at the base of the design. The circular legend PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI arcs across the upper field, while AUREUS MAGNUS is inscribed along the lower periphery, separated by small decorative rosettes. |
