Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of the young King George I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair and naturalistic facial features in the neoclassical tradition. The circular Greek legend reads ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ, distributed around the periphery of the field.
