| Reverse description | Central device depicting the emblem of the Greek military junta: a phoenix rising from flames above the silhouette of a soldier bearing a rifle with fixed bayonet, symbolizing the regime's self-proclaimed national regeneration. The date of the coup '21 ΑΠΡΙΛΙΟΥ 1967' appears prominently, with the denomination '10 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ' and the state title 'ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ' distributed in the legend and lower field. |

Issued under the military junta that seized power in April 1967, this coin circulated during one of the most politically isolated periods in modern Greek history. The regime's coinage carried deliberate iconographic choices aimed at projecting legitimacy the government conspicuously lacked internationally. By 1973, with the junta collapsing from within — a student uprising at the Athens Polytechnic in November of that year accelerating its end — these coins were already being phased toward the restored republic's issues that followed the fall of the dictatorship in July 1974.
