Obverse description The obverse displays the Jamaican coat of arms at centre, depicting a quartered shield charged with five golden pineapples, supported by two Taino figures — a female supporter to the left holding a basket of fruit and a male supporter to the right bearing a bow — with a crocodile passant atop the helm above the shield. A scroll beneath the arms bears the national motto OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TEN DOLLARS and the date 1985 are inscribed in large characters along the lower field, all within a beaded border.
