Obverse description The complete Fijian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by two Fijian warriors in traditional dress — one holding a spear to the left and one holding a tabua (whale's tooth) club to the right. A sailing vessel appears in the chief of the shield, with a British lion passant, sugarcane, a coconut palm, and a dove with an olive branch in the four quarters. A scroll banner beneath the shield bears the national motto in the Fijian language. The legend FIJI 2013 arcs along the upper rim, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower rim.
