| Obverse description | The central device features the full coat of arms of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The shield, supported by a marlin to the left and a flamingo to the right, displays a rising sun above a galleon at sea. A crest of a conch shell atop a helm surmounts the shield, with a scroll beneath bearing the national motto in the exergue. The circular legend 'COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS' arcs across the upper periphery, with the date '2017' inscribed at the base. |

| Reverse description | A frosted bust portrait of a smiling female athlete is depicted in three-quarter view, her long hair falling to her shoulders, holding an Olympic gold medal in her right hand at lower left; the medal bears the Rio 2016 Olympic emblem. A horizontal band divides the lower portion of the field from the portrait, within which the commemorative legend and denomination are inscribed in three lines. The deeply contrasting proof finish accentuates the sculptural relief of the portrait against the mirror background. |
