| Obverse description | The central field displays the full Jamaican coat of arms, featuring a quartered shield charged with five golden pineapples, supported on the dexter by a female Taíno figure wearing a feathered headdress and holding a basket of fruit, and on the sinister by a male Taíno figure bearing a bow and arrow. Above the shield rises a helmet surmounted by a crocodile passant atop a royal helm, with elaborate mantling to either side. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE in the field. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper legend, while TEN DOLLARS is inscribed in large letters along the lower periphery. The Valcambi mint mark (CHI) appears in the lower field. |
