| Obverse description | Highly detailed antique-finish depiction of the facade of the Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) in Venice, rendered in high relief. Two colossal classical figures — Mars at left and Neptune at right — stand on pedestals flanking a grand arched portico with ornate Corinthian columns and intricately engraved decorative friezes. At the apex of the central arch, the winged Lion of Saint Mark is depicted statant, flanked by the legends FIJI to the left and 2016 to the right. The Fijian coat of arms is displayed within the central arch above an inset rectangular piece of genuine pink stone, replicating the marble floors of the palace. The denomination 10 DOLLARS appears in the lower field, with the silver purity mark Ag 999 inscribed to the right margin. |
