| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia is centrally displayed, featuring a shield bearing a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun, surmounted by a scroll inscribed with the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, and flanked by a plow and spade at the base. The arms are enclosed within a decorative wreath and bear the legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA on the shield's lower portion. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper rim, while the date 2006 is divided at either side of the central device.
