| Obverse description | The obverse bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia at centre, depicting a sailing ship approaching shore beneath a palm tree, with a dove in flight above and a rising sun to the right, all within a shield supported by crossed ceremonial implements. A scrolled ribbon above the shield carries the national motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE', while a lower scroll bears the legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA'. The date '19 95' is divided to either side of the shield. The circular outer legend reads 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' at top, with 'ONE OUNCE 10 DOLLARS FINE SILVER' inscribed along the lower periphery. The name 'MAYFLOWER' appears incuse on the hull of the vessel.
