Obverse description The Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing five golden pineapples arranged in a cross pattern, supported on either side by two Taino figures in traditional dress — a female supporter to the left holding a basket of fruit, and a male supporter to the right holding a spear. A crocodile is depicted passant atop the heraldic helm above the shield, while a scroll beneath carries the national motto OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination TEN DOLLARS and the date 1996 inscribed along the lower field, all within a beaded border.

Reverse description A dynamic figure of a relay sprinter is depicted in high relief at the lower left of the field, shown in full stride at the starting blocks, clutching a baton in the outstretched left hand, with stylised running track lines rendered in the lower exergue. The bold legend OLYMPIC GAMES arcs across the upper right portion of the field in two lines, with the year 1996 inscribed below in large numerals, all set against a deeply mirrored proof field.
