Obverse description Central field displays the coat of arms of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship at sea with a palm tree and a rising sun on the shoreline, framed by a wreath of leaves and a ribbon bearing the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, while REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA is repeated on the ribbon within the shield. The denomination 10 DOLLARS appears in the lower exergue. A beaded border runs along the inner rim.
