Obverse description The national seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Marshallese stick chart navigation device in the foreground, flanked by a sailing outrigger canoe and a coastal scene with native vegetation. Above the seal, a radiant sun rises behind two crossed traditional staffs, with a frigate bird at center and a fish-net motif to the right. The denomination '$10' appears to the left and the date '1991' to the right of the seal. A decorative chain border frames the entire design. The curved legend 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS' arcs along the upper periphery, while the Marshallese motto 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN' and the word 'SEAL' appear on a ribbon at the base.

A second aircraft is visible in flight in the upper right background. The legend 'PBY CATALINA' curves along the upper periphery in bold raised letters. The denomination '10' and the inscription 'TEN DOLLARS' appear in the lower central field.
