| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia at center, depicting a sailing ship approaching the shore, a palm tree, a plow, and a rising sun over the sea, all above a ribbon bearing the motto 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA.' The date is split to either side of the shield, with '20' to the left and '01' to the right. The outer legend reads 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' along the upper arc, and the motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' curves within the inner border. The design is executed in proof-like relief with a milled border of fine beading. |
