| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia at centre, depicting a sailing ship at sea with a palm tree and a rising sun on the shoreline, all within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The shield is supported by decorative foliate elements, and a smaller scroll inscribed REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears below the shield. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs around the upper periphery, the date 2004 is divided to either side of the coat of arms, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower border. The coin displays a prooflike finish with deeply mirrored fields. |
