The Marshall Islands began issuing brass collector dollars in the early 1990s as a direct revenue program, contracting production to foreign mints and targeting the topical coin market rather than circulation. The Mirage F1C was France's primary carrier-based interceptor throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s, operated by the Aéronavale from the decks of Foch and Clemenceau.
France retired the last fleet F1s from carrier operations in 2000 when Clemenceau was decommissioned, leaving the Charles de Gaulle and its Rafale M as the sole carrier strike platform.
