| Obverse description | Central field features the coat of arms of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship on the sea with a palm tree and rising sun on the shore, an anchor and plough in the lower foreground, and a dove in flight above; the shield is surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The date 2005 is divided by the arms, with numerals appearing at left and right. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper rim, and a second inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears on a ribbon at the base of the design.
