Obverse description The national arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupy the central field, depicting a traditional Marshallese canoe sail, a sun with radiating rays, a dragonfly, flying birds, and ocean waves, all enclosed within a decorative rope border. A banner at the base bears the word SEAL. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination $10 appears to the left and the date 1994 to the right. The Marshallese national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN curves along the lower rim. The overall design is rendered in a flat relief style characteristic of non-circulating commemorative issues.

Reverse description The winged allegorical figure of Mercury, messenger of the gods, is depicted in dynamic flight across a star-filled field, grasping a caduceus and soaring above the large disc of the planet Mercury rendered in textured relief occupying the lower right of the field. The astrological symbol for the planet Mercury appears prominently in the lower left field. The date 1994 is inscribed along the upper rim, the denomination $10 appears at the bottom, and the legend MERCURY is inscribed in the lower left field. The designer's initials DE and the mint mark R appear in small letters at the bottom. The composition evokes a sense of celestial motion and mythological allegory in a style typical of commemorative coinage of the period.
