| Obverse description | The obverse presents an extraordinarily detailed high-relief depiction of an ornate Manueline-style architectural portal, rendered in antiqued silver. Elaborately carved twisted columns, armillary spheres, coral motifs, and foliate ornamentation surround a central arched window inset with a vibrant red translucent Tiffany art glass panel. The intricate stonework background evokes the characteristic Portuguese Late Gothic decorative vocabulary of the early 16th century. To the right of the portal, the shield-shaped coat of arms of Palau is inscribed with the legends REPUBLIC OF PALAU and RAINBOW'S END, with the denomination 10 DOLLARS incused below. |
