Obverse description The national coat of arms of Liberia is centrally displayed, featuring a shield bearing a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun, surmounted by a dove in flight, with the motto legend 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' on a ribbon scroll across the upper portion of the shield. The arms are flanked by the divided date '20' to the left and '04' to the right. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs around the upper field, while a second inscription 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' appears on a scroll beneath the shield. The denomination '10 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower rim. The coin features a milled border of fine dentils encircling the entire design.
