| Obverse description | The shield-shaped coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a sailing ship on the sea, a dove in flight, a palm tree, and a rising sun, with a plough in the foreground. The motto legend THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arcs around the interior of the shield. The date 2005 is split to either side of the arms, with '20' to the left and '05' to the right. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the upper periphery, and a second inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears on a ribbon below the shield near the lower rim. The entire design is framed by a beaded border. |
