Obverse description The Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield adorned with five pineapples, surmounted by a Jamaican crocodile upon a royal helmet and mantling. Two Taíno figures serve as supporters flanking the shield, the female dexter figure holding a basket of fruit and the male sinister figure bearing a bow, with a scroll below bearing the national motto. The commemorative legend encircles the design, with the denomination $10 and the Franklin Mint mark appearing at the lower portion of the field. The dates 1962 and 1983 flank the legend vertically on either side.
