Obverse description The Arms of Jamaica occupy the central field, featuring a quartered shield decorated with five golden pineapples on alternating black and gold crosses, supported by two Taíno figures standing as dexter and sinister supporters, each in traditional dress. A crest comprising an American crocodile resting atop a royal helmet surmounts the shield, while a scroll below bears the national motto. The denomination $10 appears in the lower field, with the Franklin Mint mark (FM) also present. The commemorative legend arcs around the periphery, with the anniversary designation reading vertically at left and the issue year 1983 at right.
