Obverse lettering IMPERIAL BANK OF CANADA WILL PAY TO BEARER ON DEMAND 10 TORONTO NOV. 1ST 1923 TEN DOLLARS PRESIDENT GENERAL MANAGER CANADIAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, LIMITED.
Reverse description The reverse is executed in a single dark blue intaglio impression built around dense guilloche lacework that fills the entire field. A central circular vignette contains a lion passant guardant standing atop an Imperial Crown, enclosed within a fine lathe-work border; large numeral '10' counters occupy the left and right panels. The bank title runs along the top in a bold ribbon cartouche, with the denomination 'TEN DOLLARS' in letterpress across the lower panel flanked by numeral '10' tablets, and the printer's imprint at the foot.
