| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea with a rising sun and a palm tree on the shoreline, all beneath a flying dove. A ribbon scroll below bears the legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA, while an arched banner above reads THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The date 19 94 is divided at either side of the shield.
