The Marshall Islands issued a long series of $10 brass commemoratives through the 1990s targeting the collector market directly, with no pretense of circulation. This F-16 piece appeared the same year Lockheed Martin was deep in negotiations over the F-16's future export contracts, with several Eastern European NATO candidates evaluating it as their primary fighter acquisition following the Cold War's restructuring of their air forces.
