| Obverse description | The obverse features a circular inset bearing the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, diademed and draped, set within the upper body of a highly detailed gold-plated sarcophagus shaped flan. Above the central coin inset, the legend TUTANKHAMUN appears in raised Latin letters, accompanied by an Egyptian cartouche and a decorative headdress finial in the form of a winged solar motif. Flanking the circular portrait field are raised Egyptian scarab beetles and a lotus blossom, while radiating striations extend downward across the lower sarcophagus form.
