| Reverse description | Full-color reproduction of Raphael's masterpiece 'The Transfiguration' (c. 1516–1520) occupying the entire rectangular field of the coin. The upper register depicts the transfigured Christ levitating in radiant white robes with arms outstretched, flanked by the prophets Moses and Elijah, while three apostles recoil in awe below on the mountaintop. The lower register portrays a crowd of disciples and supplicants gesturing toward a possessed boy, faithfully rendered in the rich palette of the High Renaissance original. Along the right vertical border, the legend '1/4 OZ .9999 AU' is inscribed, and along the lower right field the artist's name 'RAFFAELLO SANTI' and his life dates '1483–1520' appear in gilt lettering. |
