Part of a multi-release series commemorating the Tower of London, this miniature gold piece was produced by the Perth Mint under license — a common arrangement for Solomon Islands collector issues, which carry the national authority but reflect no domestic minting infrastructure whatsoever. The Tower series leaned into the fortress's role as a royal mint: the Tower housed England's primary coinage operation from 1279 until 1810, when production shifted to the new facility on Tower Hill.
