| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at age 77, rendered in the fourth definitive portrait by Susanna Blunt, bare-headed and wearing a necklace and earrings. The bust is finely detailed with a naturalistic treatment typical of the Blunt portrait used on Canadian coinage from 2003 onward. The surrounding legend reads 'ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA' in raised Latin lettering, with the engraver's initials 'SB' appearing below the portrait. |
