The Kori Agung is the ceremonial split gate found at the entrance to Balinese Hindu temple compounds, and its inclusion on a Fijian commemorative reflects the significant Indo-Fijian and Balinese cultural presence that developed through indentured labor migration under British colonial administration from the 1880s onward. Fiji received workers primarily from India, though smaller Balinese and broader Indonesian cultural influences filtered through the Pacific over subsequent generations.
