Saint Alexius of Rome is a 5th-century figure whose historicity is disputed — the biographical details attached to his name are largely hagiographic accretion from later centuries, with no contemporary documentation confirming his existence. Fiji's issuance of religious-themed silver bullion and collector coinage in the 2010s was frankly a licensing arrangement, with the actual production contracted to European minting houses targeting Catholic collector markets rather than anything to do with the Pacific island nation.
