Additional information

The 1985 royal visit commemorated by this issue was part of Elizabeth II's tour of the Eastern Caribbean, during which she formally opened the new terminal at E.T. Joshua Airport on St. Vincent. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines had gained independence from Britain only in 1979, making this among the first royal visits to the island nation as a sovereign state within the Commonwealth.
