Obverse lettering ~ ELIZABETH II ~ ~ TOKELAU 2013 ~ IRB TEN DOLLARS
Reverse description The entire annular field is occupied by a vivid full-color depiction of a dragon-form ouroboros — a serpentine creature rendered in the East Asian artistic tradition, its scaled body coiling continuously around the central aperture as it bites its own tail, embodying the ancient symbol of cyclicality and eternity. The dragon's head, depicted at the upper right, features a green and blue scaled visage with an open jaw, prominent teeth, and tongues of red and orange flame. The sinuous body displays deep cobalt-blue dorsal scales, a yellow and ochre ventral surface, and spotted accents, wrapping around cresting ocean waves at the lower arc and rocky cliffs at the left. Stylized white clouds fill the upper background, all set against a dark blackened field that intensifies the polychrome enamel coloring.
