| Reverse description | A colourised scenic composition evoking the natural landscape of Dominica, known as the 'Nature Isle of the Caribbean.' In the foreground, a recumbent female figure wearing a blue floral-patterned garment and a pink flower in her dark hair is depicted reclining on a sandy shore, rendered in vivid applied colour. The middle ground features a calm bay with a sailing vessel, while a dramatic volcanic mountain rises in the background amid tropical vegetation to the right. The date 2018 appears at the top of the field, with the cursive inscription Dominica arching beneath it. A ring of small five-pointed stars frames the inner design. |

| Additional information |
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issues coinage on behalf of eight member territories — Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Anguilla, and Montserrat — and has periodically used commemorative gold issues to market the region internationally rather than for any domestic monetary function. Dominica's "Nature Isle" designation, the hook behind this piece, derives from the island's reputation as the least commercially developed of the Windward Islands, a status owing largely to its volcanic terrain making mass tourism infrastructure impractical.
Gold issues of this type from the ECCB are produced in strictly limited numbers for the collector market, with distribution handled primarily through third-party dealers in Europe and North America.
