Part of the Royal Canadian Mint's "Sports of Canada" bullion series, this issue belongs to a run of .9999 fine silver pieces produced specifically to capture a collector market that standard Maple Leaf bullion couldn't reach. The sports-themed denominations were never intended for circulation — the $10 face value was a legal fiction from the outset.
