| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a stylised stone tablet design bearing a Latin cross at the top centre, beneath which appears a biblical quotation and a commemorative inscription honouring Mother Teresa. The legend SAINT TERESA OF CALCUTTA arches along the upper rim, accompanied by the year 1997. At the lower field, two floral sprigs flank the gold weight and fineness specifications. All inscriptions are rendered in incuse lettering within a plain recessed panel design. |

| Additional information |
Mother Teresa died in September 1997, and this issue nominally commemorates that year — though it was struck in 2020, more than two decades later, as part of the ongoing wave of small-format gold miniatures produced largely for the collector market rather than any ceremonial purpose. Her beatification came in 2003 and canonization in 2016, both of which generated far more numismatic interest than her death year alone.
