The "moose" in this series refers to the RCM's ongoing fine gold wildlife bullion program, which expanded aggressively after 2011 as the mint sought to compete directly with the Austrian Philharmonic and South African Krugerrand in the fractional gold market. The .9999 fineness — four nines — has been the RCM's signature specification since the 1979 Maple Leaf first achieved it, predating most sovereign mints by years.
