The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank serves eight island territories under a single currency union — one of the few functioning monetary unions outside the Eurozone. These colored wildlife issues began appearing in the 2010s as the ECCB leaned into collector markets to generate seigniorage revenue that circulating coinage simply cannot produce at that scale.
KM#30.1 distinguishes this as the colored variant within the type, the uncolored strike catalogued separately.
