| Reverse description | A highly detailed frontal view of Schloss Linderhof, the Rococo palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, occupies the central field, rendered with fine architectural precision showing the ornate facade, central dome, sculptural rooftop decorations, and rusticated stonework. Above the palace, the inscription LUDWIG II appears in prominent lettering, surmounted by a circular cartouche reading 175th ANNIV. at the top of the field. Elaborate foliate and floral scroll ornaments frame the design along the inner border. The name LINDERHOF arcs along the lower periphery in bold capital letters, set above a decorative cartouche. |

| Additional information |
Part of a broader miniature gold series issued under license rather than for domestic circulation, this piece was produced by a European private mint for the collector market — the Solomon Islands lending its authority as issuer in exchange for licensing fees, a common arrangement among small Pacific nations with no meaningful domestic numismatic infrastructure. Linderhof is the smallest of Ludwig II of Bavaria's three palaces, completed in 1878 and the only one he lived to see finished.
