Additional information

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issues currency on behalf of eight member states — Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Anguilla — a monetary union that has held the EC dollar fixed at 2.70 to the US dollar since 1976. Collector gold of this type is produced under that authority but functions entirely outside circulation, aimed squarely at the international bullion and numismatic market.

The colourisation is applied after striking via a proprietary transfer process. KM#28.1 distinguishes this colourised variant from the uncolourised issue struck in the same year.
