| Additional information |
The HM Barge Endeavour was the ceremonial vessel used to carry Queen Elizabeth II during her 1953 royal tour of Fiji — the first visit by a reigning monarch to the islands. The tour followed her coronation and was part of a six-month Commonwealth voyage that took her through thirteen countries. Fiji's leg included a formal reception at Suva harbor, where the barge played a central ceremonial role.
This 1998 issue marks roughly 45 years after that visit, falling within a wave of Pacific commemorative silver programs that flooded the collector market through the 1990s.
