| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a jewelled tiara, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The portrait captures the Queen in a mature likeness with fine detail in the crown's beaded and ornamental elements. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs above the effigy along the upper rim, while the inscription 10 DOLLARS FIJI 2010 curves along the lower rim in bold Latin characters. |

| Additional information |
Fiji has issued commemorative gold pieces under Reserve Bank authority since the 1970s, but the Death Mask series from 2010 belongs to a wave of sub-half-gram collector issues that flooded the Pacific island issuer market during that decade — face value nominal, bullion content negligible, profit margin to the issuer substantial. At 0.5 grams, this piece contains less gold than a standard dental inlay.
