Part of a miniature gold series issued by the Solomon Islands through the Perth Mint under licensing arrangements common to Pacific sovereign issuers with limited domestic minting infrastructure. At half a gram, these pieces sit at the extreme low end of legal-tender gold coin production — a format that gained traction in the 2010s as bullion premiums on fractional gold climbed and collector appetite for affordable struck gold increased.
