| Obverse description | Central circular field bearing the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as rendered by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the Queen shown diademed and draped. The legend ELIZABETH II flanks the portrait along the left arc, while NIUE appears at the top and 10 DOLLARS along the right arc of the beaded border. The date 2014 is inscribed in the lower exergue beneath the portrait. The design is set within a square planchet with a recessed circular coin field surrounded by a plain flat border. |

The eleventh release in Niue's fourteen-part Cathedral series, this piece honors Notre-Dame de Paris roughly five years before the April 2019 fire that destroyed the spire and much of the medieval roof structure. Niue has operated as a reliable vehicle for themed bullion and collector programs since the 1990s, its status as a New Zealand realm territory giving it access to Commonwealth-standard minting infrastructure while keeping sovereign issuing rights.
