Obverse description The coat of arms of Saint Lucia occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield charged with a Tudor rose, a fleur-de-lis, and a cross, supported on either side by Saint Lucia parrots (Amazona versicolor) with wings displayed. Above the shield rises a helmet surmounted by a torch crest with foliate mantling. A scroll beneath the supporters bears the national motto in three sections: 'THE LAND', 'THE PEOPLE', and 'THE LIGHT'. The legend 'SAINT LUCIA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 'TEN DOLLARS' is inscribed in large letters along the lower periphery, all rendered in sharply struck proof finish against a mirror-polished field.
