Additional information

The "Australian Dinosaurs" series emerged from a broader RAM strategy of pairing legal-tender gold proofs with paleontological subject matter, capitalizing on Australia's genuine fossil record — the continent has yielded significant theropod and sauropod material, including Australovenator wintonensis, excavated in Queensland in 2009 and among the most complete predatory dinosaur skeletons found on Australian soil.

The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was introduced across Commonwealth mints from 2015 onward and appears here in its final years of use before the Queen's death in September 2022.
