Reverse description The central field depicts a dynamic scene of tunnel construction during the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, with five workers shown in various poses operating drilling equipment, surveying instruments, and carrying materials at the entrance of a large circular tunnel bore receding in perspective. Tracks lead into the darkness of the tunnel opening at centre, while a flame torch is visible at upper centre. The curved legend 'THE SNOWY MOUNTAINS SCHEME' arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination '10 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower border. The design by Vladimir Glikman employs finely detailed frosted relief figures against a polished background field, giving strong visual contrast typical of proof presentation strikes.
