Obverse description The fourth crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley occupies the gold-plated silver center, depicted in right-facing profile with a tiara and wearing draped attire. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field, with the engraver's initials IRB visible below the truncation. The surrounding copper outer ring carries the legend ELIZABETH II to the left and AUSTRALIA 2001 to the right, incused in uppercase Latin characters following the rim.
